Literacy

Students are expected to read at least 20 minutes a night.

Just like sports, instruments, arts, and anything else, reading skills take practice to develop. Students are expected to read for 20 minmutes a night. This will promote and strengthen skills they are learning and working on in school. Independent reading is important for student growth. Need help motivating your reader? Don't hesitate to ask :) Sometimes it's a matter of finding the right style of book!

This year Mrs. Powles is teaching our two 4th grade classes reading skills and strategies. If you have any questions regarding the reading program, please contact her at lpowles@sau53.org.
